On the 22nd of June, the Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) partnered with Cancel Cancer Africa, led by Mr. Ronnie Jacobs, to host a groundbreaking cancer awareness program titled “A Ring of Hope: Boxing Cancer” at Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Benin City.
The event aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer, cervical cancer, and prostate cancer. It sought to educate individuals and communities on these cancers and help reduce their incidence rates in Africa. The program included a boxing contest symbolizing the fight against cancer and two fashion shows featuring recycled materials.
The event combined education and entertainment, engaging guests with both the boxing contest and the innovative recycling fashion shows. Mr. Ronnie Jacobs, the founder of Cancel Cancer Africa, expressed his gratitude to everyone involved. He emphasized the importance of educating people about the early signs and symptoms of cancer and the necessity of a collective action to combat the disease.
