Edo State Holds Quarter 4 Review Meeting on Food and Nutrition Performance in Benin City.

On the 19th December 2025, the Fourth Quarter review and coordination meeting of the Edo State Committee on Food and Nutrition was held at the Oredo Secretariat, Benin City. The meeting brought together key government agencies and stakeholders to review progress on food and nutrition activities across the state.


In attendance were the Chairman, Edo State Committee on Food and Nutrition, Mr. Kingsley Ogbodu, representatives from Ministry of Digital Economy, Science and Technology, Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Development, Edo State Small Town & Rural Water Supply (STRUWASSA), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ministry of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Budget & Economic Planning & Development, State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), National Orientation Agency (NOA), EDO Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), EDO Agricultural Development Program (EDO ADP), Nutrition Sociey of Nigeria (NSN), EDSPHCDA Staff, among others.



The meeting served as a platform for all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) involved in food and nutrition to assess their performance for the quarter. Each MDA presented its work plan, highlighting activities that were completed, those that were not, and the reasons for any gaps.



While welcoming participants, Mr. Kingsley Ogbodu described the meeting as an important opportunity to measure progress, accountability, and performance of all MDAs against their approved work plans. He emphasized the need for commitment and improved collaboration to strengthen food and nutrition outcomes in Edo State.



Also speaking at the meeting, Mrs. Amenze Phil-Imade, the State Nutrition Officer (SNO) thanked participants for attending and encouraged them to actively engage in the review process. She stressed that honest assessment and collective problem-solving were key to improving results.



The meeting ended with the nutrition stakeholders having a shared understanding of the need for better coordination, accountability, and follow-through to ensure improved food and nutrition services across Edo State.
