EDSPHCDA Executive Secretary Supervises Primary Healthcare Facilities in Benin City.

On Tuesday, the 18th of February, 2025, the newly appointed Executive Secretary, Edo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (EDSPHCDA), Dr. Coulson Osoikhai Oahimire, along with his Technical Adviser, Dr. Gideon Iraoyah, visited some primary healthcare centers in Benin City.

The visit focused on some facilities set to benefit from the Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) project, which the World Bank funds in partnership with the Edo State Government. The goal is to renovate and upgrade primary healthcare centers to improve infrastructure, enhance service delivery, and reduce maternal and child deaths.

Dr. Oahimire visited Iwogban PHC, Amufi PHC, and Oregbeni PHC during the tour. He explained that this was not just a one-time visit but part of an ongoing effort to monitor progress and ensure the facilities function effectively. He encouraged healthcare workers to stay committed to providing quality services to the community.

Dr. Oahimire also emphasized the Government’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare as the foundation of the healthcare system.

“With the support of His Excellency, Governor Monday Okphebholo, we will ensure that quality healthcare services are delivered to the people of Edo State,” he assured.
