In a Press Briefing held at Ezoti Benin City, the Executive Secretary, EDSPHCDA Dr. Omosigho Izedonmwen announced the commencement of the Measles Vaccination Campaign across all 18 LGAs of Edo State, from October 19th to 25th, 2024, with mop-up activities scheduled for October 26th and 27th.
He stated that children aged 9 to 59 months will receive the Measles vaccine free of charge at Primary Health Care Clinics (PHCs) and temporary vaccination posts including schools, religious houses, markets, and other strategic locations.
He noted that the measles vaccine, administered subcutaneously in the left upper arm, is safe, effective, and helps boost immunity. He also encouraged caregivers to bring their eligible children for vaccination during this period to protect them from preventable diseases.
